The following are video and audio documentaries dealing with covert operations conducted by the CIA over a 40+ year span. Many of these operations overthrew democratically elected governments and replaced them with dictorial governments which were more open to USA interests. I encourge you all to watch these very important videos and listen to the audios. Some of them are very long, so patience will be needed in downloading. 1st) Speech segment: CIA officer, John Stockwell - 6 minutes

The former CIA Station Chief in Angola in 1976, John Stockwell worked for then Director of the CIA, George [H.W.] Bush. He spent 13 years in the agency. He gives a short history of CIA covert operations. He is a very compelling speaker and the highest level CIA officer to testify to the Congress about his actions.

2nd) Documentary segment: A Bill Moyers special, "The Secret Government" - 20 minutes

Aired on PBS in 1987, this documentary includes interviews with many different people involved with the CIA and other government agencies. It gives an overview of what has actually happened in the last 50 years regarding the CIA and the cold war (including Iran, Guatemala, Cuba, Viet Nam and Chile). Featured, are such people as Ralph McGeehee and Phil Retinger (both former CIA agents), Rear Admiral Gene La Rocque (Ret. U.S.N.), Theodore Bissell (active in the CIA at the time), Sen. Frank Church and many others.

3rd) Documentary segment: "Cover-up: Behind the Iran-Contra Affair" - 20 minutes

Aired on PBS in 1990, this documentary chronicles the US government activity that went unreported by the mainstream media. Narrated by the late Elizabeth Montgomery, it features many knowledgeable and informative people such as John Stockwell (former CIA agent), Daniel Sheehan (former head council of the Christic Institute), Peter Dale Scott (author and professor at Berkeley), David MacMichael (former CIA analyst), Henry Gonzalez and Jack Brooks (both former Congressmen from Texas), Robert White (former US Ambassador to El Salvador), and many others.

4th) Documentary segment: "The Panama Deception" - 22 minutes

An Academy Award winner for Best Documentary, this film shows how the US attacked Panama and killed 3 to 4 thousand people in an invasion that the rest of the world was against. The excuse given was to get the drug lord, General Noriega, who had been on the CIA's payroll for 20 years. We see not only the devastation we did to the poor cities in Panama, but also how our media was complicit in the way all of this was presented to the American public. Some of the people featured in this video are, professors Michael Parenti and Peter Dale Scott, Jeff Cohen (executive director of Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting or FAIR), Mark Hertsguaard (journalist and author), Rear Admiral Eugene Carroll (Ret. U.S.N.), US Rep. Charles Rangel of New York, and Sabina Virgo (national labor organizer).

[Note: While listening to this segment, ask yourself if you see any similarities between what GHW Bush did in Panama and what his son, GW Bush has done in Iraq.]

5th) Documentary segment: "School of Assassins" - 14 minutes

This film represents the first attempt by an American documentary film crew to deal with the issue of government complicity surrounding the events of 9-11. It focuses on the death of FBI Special Agent John O'Neill (discussed in the seventh video), who was the Bureau's most outspoken critic of its internal politics.
