The Fundies Are Going TOO Far

Have you heard the latest proposal by Rep. Marilyn Musgrave, R-Colo.? She wants to make Gay Marriages constitutionally illegal! Here is her proposal:

``Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman. Neither this Constitution nor the constitution of any state under state or federal law shall be construed to require that marital status or the legal incidents thereof be conferred upon unmarried couples or groups.''

And Sen. Bill Frist, R-Tenn., said:

``I very much feel that marriage is a sacrament, and that sacrament should extend and can extend to that legal entity of a union between -- what is traditionally in our Western values has been defined -- as between a man and a woman. So I would support the amendment.''

This bunch is just in a pissy mood because of the Supreme Court ruling in Texas on repealing the Sodomy Law. Oh it was okay for heterosexuals to commit sodomy acts, but not homosexuals. So the court ruled that it was unconstitutional to violate homosexuals' privacy rights.

``I have this fear that this zone of privacy that we all want protected in our own homes is gradually -- or I'm concerned about the potential for it gradually being encroached upon, where criminal activity within the home would in some way be condoned,'' Frist told ABC's ``This Week.''

``And I'm thinking of -- whether it's prostitution or illegal commercial drug activity in the home -- ... to have the courts come in, in this zone of privacy, and begin to define it gives me some concern.''

And again, I say, so it was okay for heterosexuals, but he is saying that homosexuals are criminals engaging in a crime that isn't a crime for straight people?

What the fuck is going on in this country? Have we taken a warped-speed travel back in time? What will these ultra-conservative fundies think of next? That women must be subservient to their husbands? That women can no longer hold jobs, but must remain home "barefoot and pregnant"? Will they take us all the way back to a time when only men could get an upper-education? How fucking far back do these fundies want to take us?

If these fundies would pay more attention to their own lives and keep their noses out of other people's bedrooms, this would be a much better country to live in. These people clearly do *not* follow the teachings of their Jesus, for if they did, they would love everyone equally and not try to incite hatred in this country by wishing to adopt horrible laws like that Anti-Gay Marriage proposal. I am so sick of these so-called fundies. And I say one more time: MIND YOUR OWN FUCKING BUSINESS!
